GOS/FOS in Milk Products
15.06.2012 | GALAB has developed a new method for the analysis of galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) in raw material (GOS syrup) and milk products.
The technique is based on an optimised chromatographic separation of oligosaccharides (HPLC-DAD). In this respect, content and composition of GOS next to FOS can be determined. For raw material control of GOS (including fingerprint, chain length and unsaturated units), the galactose content is determined.
The limits of quantification are in the range of 0.02 – 0.5 mg/kg for milk, yoghurt and milk powder and comply with industrial requirements of 0.1 % in the final product. For queries our customer support is at your service.
