Description
GlycoImage® Lectin Array Kit is designed especially for the screening of glycconjugates, e.g. antibodies. The microplate surface presents a panel of lectins. These lectins provide a broad range of specificities.
The glycosylated sample binds to the lectin surface of the microplate. The sample-lectin-affinity depends on the glycan structure of the sample. A higher affinity causes higher signal intensity.
Enzymatic detection is possible after biotinylation of the sample or by using a sample-specific, biotinylated antibody. The biotinylation reagents are included to the kit. |

The results show glycan profiles of the determined samples. The samples presented in the charts above are glycoproteins. Chart 1 shows the glycan profile of bovine fetuin, a sialylated protein. Chart 2 presents the glycan profile of bovine fetuin after neuraminidase treatment. The glycan profile (chart 2) shows an increase of signal intensity on galactose-binding lectins on the one hand, on the other hand there is a decrease in signal intensity on sialic-acid specific lectins.
