| Gold Traps for the Determination of Mercury in Ambient Air |
GALAB provides Gold Traps for the determination of mercury in ambient air according to VDI guideline VDI 2267, Part 8 "Determination of suspend particles in ambient air" and Part 9 "Determination of suspended particulate matter in ambient air".
VDI guideline VDI 2267, Part 9, describes the measurement of total gaseous mercury (TGM) in ambient air using an enrichment sampling method. Analytical determination is performed after thermal desorption using atomic fluorescence spectrometry (AFS).
|
| Method |
The air to be analyzed is drawn through quartz tubes containing a gold-coated support material of large surface area. The bed of support material is fixed in packed form in the tubes by two fixed filter bodies made of quartz. The gaseous elemental mercury and mercury compounds present in the air sample are sorbed by amalgamation. Following thermal desorption, the mercury may be determined by AFS.

| GALAB Services |
GALAB provides the sorption tubes and the support material as recommended in the VDI guideline. The GALAB gold traps fulfill the requirements of VDI 2267 part 8 and 9.
GALAB also offers the determination of the total gaseous mercury in your loaded gold traps after your sampling.
